Youth for Climate Action in Lebanon

Youth for Climate Action in Lebanon – YCAL project focuses on raising awareness and accountability on climate issues in Lebanon. It advocates for adopting sustainable solutions in rural communities to help fight climate change.

The project focuses on creating a dialogue between multiple stakeholders and linkages between municipalities and youth activists. Women and youth participation are essential for developing sustainable models, on a decentralized level, as is raising knowledge about sustainable consumption/production and energizing potential entrepreneurship opportunities in climate action.

Competition

Are you passionate about protecting the environment and coming up with innovative solutions? This competition is your chance to make a difference!

The program will start with a one-month training on sustainability and climate action. The representatives of the five best projects/teams will be invited to present their ideas in a “pitch” to an international expert panel. The winning team(s) will receive up to €3,000 in funding to launch their idea in partnership with Al Buhaira Union of Municipalities in West Bekaa.

This competition will offer youth the opportunity to apply project ideas and prototypes for sustainable community development. The best ideas will be further developed as model projects and tested by fellow participants with a social entrepreneurial mindset. The YCAL competition aims to take excellent ideas about sustainability from across the network and turn them into concrete projects in collaboration with local authorities.
